Another one for you

Another one for you

A Poem by Marina J.

Hello stranger, how do you do?
Once I thought you will never hurt me too.
I would have been a good partner, devoted and true,
Giving all my mornings, every drunken smile only to you.

Memories burn my eyes, every cuddle, every hug,
Every bench and every corner, every train trip wrapped in warmth and snug.
You're not perfect, but I was convinced you're loyal to the core,
My love embraced your flaws as parts that need loving even more.

I loved "despite", while you chased perfection,
My dreams turned to dust, lost in the reflection.
I said "yes", envisioned kids, a family to start
But it seems you returned to me just to break my heart.

Hello stranger, how do you fare?
Once I thought you would always be there.
I would have loved you with every cell of my being,
With every scar, every wound that you started healing...
