Verses of the Vanished

Verses of the Vanished

A Poem by Marina J.
"

Part of my Everlasting closure

"
Big round eyes, the stallion's grace,
The ticking veins, a haunting face,
A void within, and smiles erased.
The shadows sneer in a mocking chase.

Reflection ponders what happened with your wings?
Deafening silence in all my future springs.
Severed by your own hand, yet my blade's cruel crusade.
The North star fades, its guidance betrayed.

A resembling face across the way,
A similar laughter in the evening's sway,
Footsteps followed by the same perfume,
Ghostly breeze on a crossroad's fume.

Moments scattered in eternity's glare,
Fragments of self dissolving in the air,
A graveyard of fireflies, their light's last dance,
Getting used to grayness and tastelessness.

My palms crave something tangible, cherry red and bold and clear,
I miss you in the moments yet to come and the beauty still unseen.

In the realm of dreams I am alive,
He presents me with peaches and drooling stares,
His words are so gently finding a way to my ears:
"It was real, it was real" - his whisper confirms.
