MY MOTHER, THAT ANGELA Poem by Marimartha MardynzIn life you were loved dearly and in death we still do.
An angel lived among us,
with eyes as sharp as a dagger. Eyes that lit up the sky every night, and a heart as deep as the ocean. it was the same heart moulded in pure gold that i had treasured so deeply. She was a flawless gift from heaven with a smile that had been made of sunshine. I had seen that smile a million times over the years. Sad it is that fate put that beautiful smile to rest so soon. My mother, my Angel, she held me close and loved me protective as a lioness and fierce like the cheetah, she shielded me always from harm's way. With her intellect as bright as the stars, she guided me and i followed. I remember reaching out my small palm to touch her beautiful face. A face that's always been on my mind. One with wrinkles full of experience yet as mysterious as the other side of the moon. Her cheecks were fair like a rose and her skin glowed as diamond glints on snow. I'd give a million stars to see you once again, my mother, my Angel. © 2015 Marimartha MardynzAuthor's Note
