Return

Return

A Poem by Marilyn

Because I knew you'd return
I knew that good bye was empty
Empty as your guilt
Empty as the denial
Empty in my smile
I knew you'd return
I just had to sit patiently
And wait
And wait
I knew you'd return
When you did I showed you what you missed
And even if you never return again
You'll always have the taste of me on your lips.

It's a good read. Waiting for that person to come back is always a pain. I know this feeling well.
