hospital

A Poem by marilyn 1225
"

reflections of a hospital stay

"
WHAT IT IS LIKE TO SERVE OTHERS
BELL RINGS THEY HOP
THEY BRING PATIENTS THE MEDICINE
WATER, AND ESCORT THEM BACK TO BED IF NEEDED
THEY REASSURE
THEY ARE FAST AND
SCURR;Y FROM ONE HUMAN BEING TO ANOTHER
MAKING FRIENDS PUTTING IN IV'S  REASSURING THEM THAT THEY WILL LIVE
THEY ARE BRISK AND COMPETENT...
EVERY DAY OF THEIR WORKING LIVES
AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE COMPLAINING
PRIVATELY  OR LAUGHING AT THE
IDIOSCRINIES
OF SOME
YET THEY ARE THERE TO SERVE
AND THEY DO.....
AND AT THE END OF THE DAY THEY ALMOST DROP FROM EXHAUSTION
AND LIKE A SOLDIER,STAND UP STRAIGHT AND GO HOME
  TO SUPPER
Marilyn Nepp Sturner  feb 19 2918
the patieint waits
the bed is single
the sheets clean and white
the place is a waiting place
for help, for healing and for..
hours or waiting  alone until  the next nurse or aid arrives
the tv hummmss and the quiet of your thoughts , the stillness of the room exists only..
and the doctors use their expert training
to save your life
assuring you that your time is going to continue       Marilyn Sturner   march 1 2018

Loll I'm sure they laugh at some of the things they see or hear, privately, later when they have the time, I liked Your second poem, it's very well done, the images You painted put me in the mood and the patient's room, I hope You are feeling better my friend, sending You sweet wishes for Your Weekend*

This is the ultimate "show instead of tell" . . . as far as piling up appreciation for one of life's toughest jobs . . . including all types of caretaking! This is far better than a shallow "thank you" becuz it shows your appreciation for all the steps involved. Serving others is something you must be born with . . . I am only this way with my pets! *wink! wink!* You use vivid details that let the reader imagine each scene! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

yes i was and thank you for your '' smile''
That was very nice to read. My daughter is a RN. She works very hard but she loves it. It takes a certain type of person to do that job. I really enjoyed that.

thanks so much Donna your daughter does a vital job...
dedication of the nurses not because of money but because they want to serve can be seen as a rare trait because of materialistic attitudes on the rise. but still kudos to those hospital employees who just want one thing and that is every patient be cured.
