And how are you today?

And how are you today?

A Poem by marilyn 1225

oh  the pain over the years
in this heart
wrenching, breaking, twisting, dull, sharp, pain
that follows  the euphoria
of being in love
the loss is almost  impossible to describe
the every day every night
sadness that encompasses the soul
that remains
for awhile     acute
then hurtful
then almost tolerable
than,  at long last
just so deep inside the heart
that it has shrunk
within the crevices ,
buried  forever....
and  at long last...
the every day life goes on
perhaps without intensity
but with tolerance
and at times even
a quiet satisfaction

sometimes we lose the ones we love...life does go on...but it just seems different...there is something missing, something of that fire that becomes just glowing embers, the flame worn down and out.
