a once upon a time mother

a once upon a time mother

A Poem by marilyn 1225
"

change is the one certain thing in life someone wise, my dad, would tell me

"
kids jumping  high, throwing juice on the sofa, running and running around the house..  howling with joy,  taking books and toys , playing and throwing,  smiling and grinning and eating some more..    noise level high, mothers sigh

yet in a wink of an eye

those days they disappear-- they never will return
those noisy, hectic loving days          travel far
and  remove the priceless  childhood stars

in time   an alone once mother
retires to a computer in utter
silence --

with  memories and feelings to capture
if not to  physically capture her kids again
to  instead--
write and write
till there is no
longer a break in her heart
but instead
a telling written    (daily or nightly ) different   start

There are times when we're forced to stop laughing cause it makes annoying noises but when we stop we're shook to give at least one reply but silence covers and hugs so tight that we fail to do.
This piece is deep rather saying intense.
Great morals hidden.

This poem really touched my heart. The absence of the chaos, of the noise that once filled the house. The pull on our hearts for such chaos to return once again, filled with our childrens’ laughter, their lives simpler then though ours may have been so complex. In a way we miss all of it, the silly games, the stories we once told them, all of it, even if only for a moment, wish for it now. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
