''go get em''

that brass ring what does it mean?

"go get em'' the mother told her child

u can do it  go for it

you are good, you are smart

you can get it, 

yet no mention 

of that heart

the brass ring

is there

just ride and go around

grab it hard

  do not  drop it

you can do it , the voices inside and out, 

shout   

go get em

 run ,run and never pout

the brass ring

to all us living souls

can vary , from heart to heart

it can be that wedding dress in white

or a lover stroking you all night

it can mean a prize

or a graduation  surprise

a pleasant hug, 

 a kiss or more

just around that corner

our suitcase heavy,  our burdens now we lug

 keep you chin up ''they '' will say

go out and play

but  dont look away

from that Brass ring  

coveted above anything---

just  use your strengh

of spirit,and  mind---- 

 catch  it hard ,

before Time's minutes leave you

 far, far behind

Thank you for reading, and thank you for such good words about the poem... all mine but i once knew someone, when he was alive, who once said to me'' go get em" plus as a child in a dance recital, or piano, my parents kind of said the same thing lol thanks again
