Nothing is RightA Poem by marielondon
It isn't supposed to be like this.
These are my thoughts every long day as I watch the wrong things happen between the wrong people. She smiles at her own success in taming you, at the convenience of using you. I wouldn't confine your dreams to the small box that she maps out so clearly for you. I would let them grow out of the lines, over the hills and valleys like a fast spreading weed, too beautiful to kill. She smiles at the fact that she has anyone. She smiles at the mirror. You smile at life, and I grin back at you. Only for you, because you are you. Not because of what it would be like to have you. Our thoughts spill out and mingle when we are together, and we find that they match. Isn't that profound? I don't want you to ignore it. It could be a day like any other. We would walk as always, but our hands would finally find each other. It would be raining cold, wet drops, the tears of the sky bathing our moment in the shiver of purpose. We would dance to Frank Sinatra, If things were as they were meant to be.
