Teacher and King

Teacher and King

A Poem by The Musings of Mary H.

in paradise past
I have clenched you
in my arms
caressing your hair
making peace of the
wars raging in your head
eyes of a lion
devouring mouth
desiccating over
the smell of blood
I taught you dances
of the hart roving
in the wilderness
listening to sounds
as a bat in a cave
loving as a warrior
horse faithful to
the harsh reins
you, my great lover
are my king as I am
your teacher
I will show you
light of sun and
strength of the
red bull
and to love me
as only a human
can do.

In turn you will
rule what is mine
with a lover's heart.
