Come To YouA Poem by The Musings of Mary H.
Love will come to you
Knock on your door
For a glass of water
You must give two
If she takes her shoes
Off give her slippers
Clear room in your
Closets because she
Will stir around
Pulling up old suits
Letters and shoe-box
Cards demanding
What use of these
Love will come to you
Passing your car window
Do no let her go on by
Open the door and let
Her have the front seat
Let her turn the music
Down and speak wisdom
words, aching phrases
If she asks to take the
Steering wheel do not ask
For what reason is this
She will expect complete
Trust so you must let her
Love will come to you
sliding by your door at
Work call her back loudly
She needs to know you
Need her like your lungs
Offer her a cup of coffee
She'll take two teaspoons
Of sugar and plenty cream
She'll gently look through
Drawers and papers to file
Do not tell her not to peek
She wants to see what might
Get in the way of quality time
Love will come to you
brushing past your shoulder
take hold of her hand
she wants you to be proud
of her and make others aware
let her walk beside you
if she smiles, give her two
and an extra wink for good
measure tell her you really
appreciate her presence she
wants to know she is valued.
and lovely, desirable and
in turn she will show you her.
