When I Bid No Good Farewell

When I Bid No Good Farewell

A Poem by The Musings of Mary H.
"

Though weeping may endure for the night, joy comes in the morning~Holy Bible

"

When I bid no good farewell to night

Sun makes a clean, pristine entrance

Tears will be dried asunder in cacti

drunk of passers-by in dehydration

My feet will rise to dancing

Frolics on golden sands

I am, indeed, a free woman

I am free!

Shackles I bear no more

I am free!

When I bid no good farewell to night

Moon's foul glare will frown defeat

Brusie beating turns yellow blemish

My limbs will melt together in gold

My feet will rise to dancing

through clear waters azure

I am, indeed, a free woman

I am free!

Shackles I bear no more

I am free!

I think this poem has alot going for it, It produces a clear resonance in what the writer feels, and conveys well to the reader what the writer is imagining. I notice however that there seems to be two subjects going on. One, that a woman is no longer a slave to something, and two, the sun rising. While the comparison is obvious that the rising sun is the hope and delivery of freedom, there is no evidence in the poem itself towards that association.
What I really enjoyed in the poem was that it reminded me of a psalm, which works out rather well, I think. Also, the use of color is very well done, and produces a clear mental image. Nicely done!
