A Poem by Marian Elizabeth
"

From my collection "Women: Little Moments in Time"

"

I lie down to see the clouds

Form faces

And rabbits

And caterpillars,

That in panels of fresh cotton

Smile at the absent rain;

Would the sun their whiteness rape,

The rabbit would have an eye

Or a heart of scorching topaz

Or a golden watch for time,

All things Alice would run after.
