Suffocating Flame

Suffocating Flame

A Poem by Mariah Renae

A whispering flicker

An encroaching ebony

Smaller fainter fading

Darkness engulfing

It’s not over yet

Not here not now

Blinding light

A burst of fire

I will burn bright

Not for you

Not for them

Only for me
