Well, I have a normal story, except the fact that I was murdered, and my killer remained unknown for... And driven by who knows what, to kill innocent, little me. What could I have done to deserve my fate that day? No, it wasn't my wrongdoing, they played

I watched Kat's body fall onto the tile floor. Anna looked at me in shock. I looked down at my hand holding the pistol and dropped it, as if it was hot and burned me. I looked back up at Anna who fell onto the floor.

“Anna!” I screamed and ran over to her fragile body. I pulled her away from Kat's body and held her on my lap. “Anna, honey.” I whispered, brushing her hair out of her face. Her black eyes looked up at me, my heart dropped as I realized how small she looked, how broken, how scared, how... beautiful she looked. Anna's dark cheeks had none of the sparkle I had fallen in love with before, none of the color I looked forward to seeing a few years prior. My eyebrows came together as I looked at her, her breathing was heavy, and came out in chopped, short bursts.

“Jack...” she whispered.

“Everything will be fine, Anna. The police are on their way.” I whispered to her, brushing her hair from her face more.

“My leg hurts.” she whispered. My eyes widened and I looked down at the blood-soaked rag around her thigh. Her jeans were soaked down to her ankles with dark blood. My heart dropped, but I hid it from her. I nodded, shaking away the image, and pulled her closer to me.

“You're fine, honey. You will be fine.” I looked down at her mouth, dark blood was slipping over her pale lips. She had the darkest blood I had ever seen, it was a deep purple, with barely any tint of red in it. Oh, no. She closed her eyes slowly. “Anna, stay awake. Just stay awake, the police will be here soon.” I shook her gently, but she didn't wake up. I looked around frantically for anyone, but found us by ourselves. “Anna!” I yelled, her eyes fluttered open and she groaned. “Anna, you must stay awake. You've lost too much blood, you have to stay awake.” I told her. I brought my face closer to hers, making sure she saw and heard me.

“Okay. How did you get in?” she whispered. My hands were beginning to shake under her. I pulled her closer to me, resting her head on my chest. My eyes were beginning to fill with tears, I quickly sniffled and wiped them.

“I picked the lock.” She smiled slightly, and closed her eyes again. “Anna, can you hear me?” I asked her.

“Yeah,” she whispered and put her bloody hand on my cheek.

“Do you remember what I told you in the hospital?” her pale face turned up to mine. She shook her head.

“I told you that you were strong, and I would never let anything happen to you. Do you remember?” I asked her. Anna nodded, so I smiled at her. I could feel her trembling on me. She jumped and winced, shutting her eyes. “What's wrong?” I yelped, looking down at her. She shook in my arms and grabbed my shoulder.

“Everything hurts.” she whispered. Her poor, little body was breaking on me, and I couldn't do anything about it. Blood oozed down her chin from her mouth. It looked black against her pale skin. I quickly lifted my hand and wiped it away.

“You're fine. You're fine, Anna.” I said frantically, but she shook her head. She opened her black eyes and looked at me.

“Jack, tell my family I love them dearly.” she whispered. I shook my head. My heart broke, I could hear the pieces fall down to my stomach.

“Anna, you are not going to die!” I said to her, but she still shook her head. A tear fell down my cheek. “You can't...” my voice cracked.

“Please do that for me. And... please tell Chris I was the one who took his car to the hospital. I never apologized for it.” Anna whispered. I couldn't breathe. I lowered my head, trying not to let her see me cry. My body shook as I held my breath, trying not to let her hear me, but I could hardly hold it anymore. I put my hand over my face and sobbed quietly.

“Anna, you can't...”

“I never stopped loving you.” she whispered. I could barely hear her. I lifted my head, my body trembling over hers. A soft smile appeared on her face. A genuine, loving smile. I nodded at her, I couldn't even speak, my hand was over my mouth, holding back my cries. The, I heard the police cars pull up in front of the building. Then, the doors were broken down and S.W.A.T. Came rushing in. I turned and saw them running in, my heart lifted, hoping there was still time to save Anna. I turned back to look at her, to tell her she was safe, but felt something wrong. Her hand dropped from my cheek, her lips were parted slightly, and no air came out. My eyes widened.

“Anna!” I screamed, but she didn't move. I shook her, but she didn't move.”Anna! Anna!” I screamed louder and louder, but she didn't awaken. I felt my life die inside of me. Her lifeless body hung in my arms until the paramedics took her weak body from my arms. Until then, I stared at her. I stared at her perfect face I loved so much, and her small body that fought for months, never giving up. I felt a part of me die with her. As I held her in my arms, I remembered her laugh. I remembered her rosy cheeks she used to have when she was little. She used to show me her baby pictures, and in each one her face was bright and rosy with happiness. I had hoped our kids would have her face, with her bright eyes and beautiful smile.

The paramedics took her lifeless body from my arms, and I sat there, staring where she had last looked at me with her young eyes. They took her and Kat's bodies away from me, and after extinguishing the flames in the kitchen, took me from the restaurant and back to my home, where my mom waited to see Anna with me. I had told her before I left that I was going to pick her up from the restaurant, to surprise her and ask her to marry me. When I came home without her, with dried blood on me, I was forced to explain what happened, and hug my mom as she sobbed over Anna.

Later on, I found out Anna had died from the B.L.V. With all the stress over her body, and her loss of blood, the B.L.V. couldn't take it. So, it shut her body down. There hadn't been anyone else in history that survived as long as Anna did with the B.L.V.

I had told Chris what Anna wanted me to tell him, like I promised. Chris nodded to me, and walked away. I graduated high school about two months later, and got accept into Rukesville College. As for Ellen, she had her child nine months later, a baby girl. She named her Anna, after her best friend, who was remembered in our hearts for the rest of our lives.
