Lost & Impeled

Lost & Impeled

A Poem by Mariah Slade
"

Self- Actualization

"
I found You today

underneath a memory
under a plastic album cover
in tears , in silence , in waiting
and so I reached out to You
and I asked ( I said)  " Come with me.
Foggybottom forgotten has beens, forget them. Come with Me"
leave the shade of nostalgia  and

                 step          into            the    sUN-present

taste a glimpse  of sufficiency
and euphoria  and
Everything that taste Good
you looked up  and looked beside there
and saw-- alone
fear there
and despair there
I asked you ( I said) "come with me "
and you remained there
Stuck with your drAgoNs with
eyes rAging like demons
Stuck There
Sword in my bag, I wanted to slay them
I asked you to come (I said) " leave them"
But ...you stood there
Stuck There, lookin' for someone

I found you today
I said " come with me"
I'll show you a love that grows
Exponentially
I stretched out my palm your eyes glances  over
you wanted to come
but your drAgoNs begun
they fired " that hand  is unknown,
a bridge waiting to fail , but us you know
you rest in fear and on the lips you kiss despair

So I sung  you a melody
resembling the Sun
about strong bridges  and slayed drAgoNs
you began to hum
I said " Come with me "

            See       this     love

                              Dance         this    FReE

your dragons
unleash them , come join me
take my hand
dance upon this bridge  like LibErty

I Found Me Today
she was afraid and shivering
underneath riddled memories
I looked within her
In formation - I slayed all her dragons
and threw their heads in the deep

I Found Me Today
she was young and naive
She was looking for a memory
but She was waiting on QUEEN

You were right, I love it. Oddly for me I usually find non rhyming poems more like short stories. This one however seems different. I can sense the underlying message inside the flow. It tells me a story within a story. Thank you for pointing me towards it.
