A tale about an ideal personA Story by Margarita AkatovaHow does one compare one ideal person to a google search? You are welcomed to find out. A short tale.
It is difficult to find somebody we like because we already have this idea of who we want next to us. That is good, you are not lost, you know what you want. However, it is even harder when that idea of a person exists in real life, as then you either want only that, since you know it already exists you will not be willing to settle for any less; or will demand something higher on a ladder.
Imagine booking a hotel. When you do not mind going anywhere, the least you can put is a 2+ rating as a start. However, what if one wants spa access or a bed and breakfast, or both combined with an addition of a guaranteed shuttle bus to town going every thirty minutes? We choose more and more filters and consequently, the amount of the results we get is fewer; yet that does not imply that there are none. It simply means that most of the options were not up to our wants, up to our current needs. Sometimes, we select so many filters that even Google conveys a "Your search did not match any results" message. Now the question is whether we are willing to drop some of the filters. If not, then maybe we can become that much-desired result. When you do not find something you seek, suppose a gorgeously delicious pizza with pesto sauce on it instead of cheese, you can always opt for giving it a shot and making it on your own. A very similar thing happens when we choose our filters and we do not find an acceptable result. So, become that result or train someone - surprisingly, even your friend might want to listen and change their behavior according to your needs if they are adventurous enough. When you become that result, nevertheless of what Google tells you, somehow life reaches your new standards and creates possibilities. Here, we can go onto mirroring or the law of attraction but I do not ask why an occurrence happens, this is more of what route one plans to take. Fast forward and somehow you will find that pesto pizza in a month or two, in a neighborhood cafe or maybe in a nearby town restaurant; yes it might be far or expensive but it is there, it is an option now. Let us go back to the Google example where previously no results were found. Yet, somebody just opened up a new hotel recently - simply because there were no results in the past does not mean that there will be no results later in the future. Perhaps, you are ready to alter your perspective slightly and explore some options in a different town and suddenly, that ideal option is in front of you - in line with all your filters, according to all your wants and needs. I want to ask, are you willing to alter the filters, are you ready to, do you want to? Or perhaps, you currently need to hold back for a little bit and become what you want the world to be, becoming your own that much-desired result? © 2023 Margarita Akatova |
