HALF OF MY LIFEA Poem by Marc Marlon VillaflorThere will be no tears in heaven.
It was a gloomy morning--the sun
covered by grey clouds Rolling thunder echoes with the
sound so loud. Rain started to pour, I looked at
the window; Everything is depressing, I turn my
back, I couldn't look at you As you are there, lying in your bed
chasing your breath. It makes my body numb, stuck and I
can’t move my feet. Every time I look at you, it’s tearing
my heart I can’t accept the reality and I
don’t know where to start, Every time you call my name, it seems
it is your last, I can feel your heart slowing breaking like a fragile glass. Now for the last time, I want to
hold you, I want to comfort you to end this sorrow. If only I can give you half of my
life I will do it to extend your years, my
loving wife. My tears, your tears will fall, but
remember me when you go, Tomorrow I’ll face the world alone
with this sorrow. Half of my life will be with you; I promise we
will see each other again My loving wife, remember: there will be no tears in heaven. © 2013 Marc Marlon Villaflor
