The Rage Against Poseidon (RAGE TANKA)

The Rage Against Poseidon (RAGE TANKA)

A Poem by Marc Marlon Villaflor
"

We can't judge right away unless we know the backstory.

Her lips hex venom

Diabolic mind paints gore

Gives  horrific death

Crawling in the underworld

Rage is inexorable

I wrote this poem to give voice for Medusa one of the character in Greek mythology. I have this thought to give voice for her rage after Poseidon rape her and Athena turned her into a monster. I think she deserved a voice.

There is a based mythological aspect to this, (brought in though the title specifically, and then later on with use of "the underworld") that the captures imagination, and brings colour and visualisation to the fury and torment you portray. This said a lot, brought little - well done

Haiku. Very well done. It is not often where I find a Haiku piece that is this exuberant. Another 100 daisies!

a very nice perspective to Medusa, quite refreshing in fact. It's a different take on her nature, in your imagery you give her life in a fresh for me... a wonderful view kabayan...

A very interesting character. She got a bad rap in the new movies. In the books of myths. Reasons for her anger. I like the description. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.

Thanks Coyote :)
I honestly never saw Medusa as the monster. Scary what jealousy can do. Poseidon is an a*s. I enjoyed the read :)
