King's Granted Wish

King's Granted Wish

A Poem by Marc Marlon Villaflor

His father boosted his desire

Burned his passion into a wicked fire

Gloomy soul, shady emotion and dark skin.

It’s stalling his wish to gain a friend

He is hunger to be free, wanted to be white.

He aimed visibility in everyone’s sight

Greatness comes in his way

Everything he imagined settled in reality

Money granted all his wishes

Shattered dreams broken into pieces

This world he lived was deceptive

Very far from the world which he believed

His Neverland realized his dream

Moonwalk magnified his passion in hymn

He loves to play as they deprived his childhood

He always ends up being misunderstood

He is frantic longing for a deep sleep

His mind disturbed by unfathomable bleep

He is completely drained, He opt to Dr. Evil

Injecting valium, ativan and versed to soothe the feel

His longing for deep sleep was granted forever

His flesh poisoned by the mixed recipe of disaster

A sad night in June, he is alone and devastated.

After a few hours the King of Pop died in his bed

A sad eulogy... written in a very emotional way. I think it's lovely that it ignores all the later controversies. It has a few tense issues:

"He always ends up being misunderstood".

"This world he lived was deceptive,
Very far from the world in which he believed."

"money granted all his..."

I was not a fan of his music, but I did admire his passion for it. I don't like how people will consider a legend worthless once they are associated with drugs. Yes we all know, drugs are bad... but how often do we look at how society treats each other? This is very well pointed out here. Thank you for sharing :)

Couldn't agree more you hit the point, it is true so sad.
Not bad at all. You have a clear inspiration and this is a fitting tribute to Jackson. One thing I'd suggest would be going back over this for spelling - there are a few errors here and there, but nothing really major. Another thing you might want to think about - perhaps getting rid of the 'king' metaphor? Although it's clear who you're talking about by your references, Elvis was called the king more than Jackson was, unless I'm very much mistaken, so there is a hint of confusion at the end, if this were to be read without context.

My pleasure :)
Interesting tribute to a man damaged by the aspirations of those around him and who stole his childhood and his youth. No wonder he sought to get them back so hard!
His talent was without doubt but like Amy Winehouse and many others the agony of self dout and the muissing piece destroyed him. A good tribute Marc

Thanks Mr. John, I couldn't agree more, he is truly one of the best. So sad he end like this.
This is a perfect tribute - "Money granted all his wishes, Shattered dreams broken into pieces, This world he lived was deceptive, Very far from the world which he believed..." So true - a realization that, for all his money and fame, life was still very difficult. Whenever I listen to Michael's voice as a young artist - like 12 years old, I close my eyes and I can hear all the possibilities. So sad that true joy was denied to a person of so much soul. Great write - certainly got me thinking.

i love the tribute... what i hate about society now a days we always judge of what is just shallow... we never look deep or we never do see just a great talent he has... some judge him with his life and errors.... not his achievement and creativity... you know we are just humans after all... wonderful tribute kabayan!

Thanks Brother I appreciate your review :)
He spent his life in pain to me
he could never tell his father who he really was on the inside...
he was my teacher-he taught me I could dance like the wind-it is the only pat on my own back I will ever give myself but it came from him at a slumber party when thriller first came out-the song came on-I felt it I breathed it in then my feet started then my head bobbed I remember the scene perfectly I always have...all the girls lived in envy from that slumber party on...I danced for the rest of my life...so Thank you Micheal truly...
this is a beautiful eulogy to a man who never got to lead his own life but lead the dreams of many

Thanks Holly Michael really shapes everyone's life by his powerful music. thanks for the review.
The world was a better place when they let him shine, I didn't believe a word of the allegations they made about him, I think he was a sweet kind soul and the world takes advantage of those kinds of people if they get ahead. This was a wonderful tribute to a man who didn't know who he was but wasn't afraid to show what he did, love, and his love for lost innocence was twisted into something ugly, I'll never forgive society for that.

You told this story very nicely, indeed he was misunderstood but his music spoke loudly to the masses. He will be missed as will many others who left us way too soon.
