King's Granted Wish

King's Granted Wish

A Poem by Marc Marlon Villaflor

His father boosted his desire

Burned his passion into a wicked fire

Gloomy soul, shady emotion and dark skin.

It’s stalling his wish to gain a friend

He is hunger to be free, wanted to be white.

He aimed visibility in everyone’s sight

Greatness comes in his way

Everything he imagined settled in reality

Money granted all his wishes

Shattered dreams broken into pieces

This world he lived was deceptive

Very far from the world which he believed

His Neverland realized his dream

Moonwalk magnified his passion in hymn

He loves to play as they deprived his childhood

He always ends up being misunderstood

He is frantic longing for a deep sleep

His mind disturbed by unfathomable bleep

He is completely drained, He opt to Dr. Evil

Injecting valium, ativan and versed to soothe the feel

His longing for deep sleep was granted forever

His flesh poisoned by the mixed recipe of disaster

A sad night in June, he is alone and devastated.

After a few hours the King of Pop died in his bed

A sad eulogy... written in a very emotional way. I think it's lovely that it ignores all the later controversies. It has a few tense issues:

"He always ends up being misunderstood".

"This world he lived was deceptive,
Very far from the world in which he believed."

"money granted all his..."

It's an age old story isn't it? We want to surpass the vision our parents have of us and prove them wrong if we feel they are right (why else would we try so hard). This is nicely written. A smooth read. An engaging topic. I liked it.

Interesting enough, one more thing though "wanted to white"? He never wanted to change his color(that explains the song black or white) he just had Vitiligo due to stress, his older son has it, so it runs in the family, anyway a good tribute to the king...

Thanks for the info Bro. glad you drop by thanks a lot.
I don't know. Michael Jackson wanted to be himself. He was a loved man. The media tried to destroy him. Hard being famous in a world where the dirt is brought to life without proof. His music and skills will never be equal for a long time. A interesting poem. I like the old saying. "Don't rate a life unless you walked in their shoes." A powerful poem. Open the door to thoughts to ponder upon. No perfect people. Just us folks trying to do our best. Michael Jackson did his best.

That is the sad truth Brother. I couldn't agree more. Thanks for your time reading this piece.
People do their job and get recognition, some don't. Of those who are blessed with talent some use it. We seem to mourn the deaths of talented people more than the lives of industrious people who never get noticed. We are equal in life and equal in death. Sadly we seem to forget it.

Very true
HUGE MJ FAN! The first cassette tape I ever owned was Dangerous. The day he passed, I happened to be listening to Human Nature. A friend of mine called and said "Michael Jackson died." I laughed because I thought she heard the music in the background. Too bad she wasn't joking. An enjoyable read through and through. Nice homage.

Thanks Brother glad you like it :)
So sad. I remember when this happened. I live very close to Neverland Ranch on the Central Coast, and after he passed, we took a drive up to the gate and it was amazing the outpouring of flowers, cards, notes, and people just devestated by the loss of such an amazing talent. This poem shows the idea of a "misunderstood" man with a broken heart; a man that was chastised, pulled and pushed at every corner of his life. I believe that people can be broken by too much intrusion. Well done.
