The CrossroadsA Poem by marcieA crossroads looms ahead of me. But which one should i take? Which is right and which is wrong? A decision only i can make.
Your princess to the public eye, In private just a slave , Who learned through disguising bruises How you expect me to behave.
What do you see in times of rage? when my flesh meets your fist Do you see terror in my eyes? Or only see red mist?
To stay would be the easy choice, To leave may cause me strife. But the price i pay might be too dear, For it may cost my life.
The Path that leads from you wont be easy, With hills so steep i'll want to stop And the only thing that spurs me on is The view may be breath-taking from the top.
One day i will view the world beyond you Fresh pastures is all i'll see And i'll bask in a quiet satisfaction You have no power over me. © 2010 marcieAuthor's Note
