You're a stimulantA Poem by M. Shepherd
You're a stimulant, you are, you
throw a monkey wrench into my incessant rest and rouse me from numbness. I've lain rutted in rain gutters under a thick membrane of clutter where my voice slips into the mucus of those slimy walls I'm filled with, and my words flirt with themselves, coquettish, clandestine somewhere in an alley outside the locked doors of me. The energy you give me carries into clarity, if not precision, forgiveness, you're a stimulant. © 2016 M. ShepherdReviews
