Barry Gets

Barry Gets

A Poem by marcia

He drove a long and weary road in the backseat lay his gun

He said ‘daddies gonna get it this time for all the things he done’

There was a town full of eyes just watching him go

And they gazed at the ground because they all know

He’s just a troubled soul

If any body really cared and held out clean hands

More people would love him because they’d understand

He’s just a man with horror stories for a childhood

I loved him and I did all I could

I cant forever breathe air poisoned with lies

its just dishonesty to avoid painful cries

Night time is a good friend to him ,its mornings when he bleeds

Well he’s numbed by grass and stays awake on speed

And the waters always boiling for a thousand cups of tea

I weep for the man imprisoned inside

Its because of cards dealt this man will never come alive

Ideal worlds we could create in dreams far away

If only in this place we were able to stay

Well hey maybe we’ll meet again one day
