The Departure

The Departure

A Poem by Mara Rockliffe
"

A goodbye poem for my favorite uncle. I'll miss you forever. HETG

"
Sacred grief
seeking our hope,
as a promise
aching to be silent,
beyond echoing, lingering in balance

Immaculate melody his memory
deep within the arms of time
unworthy fire, imperfect rain
holding onto emotions so intricately strayed

the yearning lulled us quiet
surrounding reality like a dagger
but we carry you
as a blooming, gilded thought
as a thankful whisper
and as the softest,
most hurtful
goodbye
