Call by a Ukrainian Citizen

Call by a Ukrainian Citizen

A Poem by Manoj Dagar
"

As I write it, war in Ukraine is going on and has destroyed the lives of thousands of its citizens. War essentially destroys both sides, still, humanity at large is not able to avoid it.

"
Call by a Ukrainian citizen…

What wrongs we have done,
As you replied with your gun,
Does this satisfy your ego?
Or still you have miles to go.

You bombarded my fields
And destroyed its yields.
You can destroy all serenity,
But not my dignity.

We are same in ethnicity,
Still you didn’t like our liberty.
Sometime back, we were brothers,
So Live and let's live together.

Ultimately you may win,
By killing all my kin,
Then on whom will you reign,
After every one of us, you have slain.
