THE PRINCESS OF POUTA Poem by Sonia WalkerThis is a fantasy tale.
Princess Maria was spoiled,
whenever she didn't get her way she pouted until her lips protruded as if asking for a kiss, her ladies-in-waiting called her the Princess of Pout a young royal who thought of nothing but herself. One day while visiting her rose garden, a frog jumped upon her shoulder, with protruding green lips he asked for a kiss, irritated, she brushed him off with her hand, how dare that ugly frog ask such a thing, she being a princess of royalty would never kiss someone beneath her, especially a frog. The horrendous idea made her lips protrude more, her nose wrinkled until all her nose hairs shown, glancing at her reflection pool she noticed a tall and handsome knight in shiny green armor standing next to her smiling away with protruding lips, was this her prince charming waiting to be kissed? Without hesitation she turned to him and gave him a kiss which lasted a lifetime and forevermore, as the centuries moved on the rose garden and reflection pool stayed the same except for a stone statue of a young woman kissing a frog which she holds in her hand with pouting lips, protruding slightly.
