How kids made the world

A funny story of the first 4 kids in existence and their dog Bubbles

Did I ever tell you the story of how the world came to be?  I was much younger back then, but so was everything else.

In the beginning there was a big nothing. And this big nothing was all by himself, so he decided to have some fun, he created 4 kids and a dog. And he asked them to give him ideas on how the world should look like.

Their first idea…the world should be filled with things they could play with, colorful and ready to be eaten. So the big nothing made the world a pink doughnut that was full of swings and beach balls. This turned out to not be very successful because the kids munched on the doughnut so by the night, the big nothing said:

“Ok, let’s try this again”

Their next suggestion was that he should make the world filled with animals.  So he thought about it, and made the world from earth and he filled the world only with black and white most of the time sleepy creatures. After they played with these animals called pandas, the kids realized that there was no more space for them to lie down…and the pandas were starting to smell.

The big nothing with his hand covering his nose decided to take action, created rain so the atmosphere became cooler and plants were starting to grow.

Happy with his creation and becoming a bit arrogant, because he was THE BIG NOTHING, he told the kids that they can do whatever they like, because his world is perfect and he doesn’t need them anymore. The kids being wiser than him, like all kids are smarted than their parents, let him to his own devices and went to travel this world. They took their dog which they named bubbles, and ran until their feet couldn’t run anymore.

Months, even years passed at the end of which the 4 brothers requested their father to appear. The 4 sons took turns in telling him their piece of mind:

“Dad I want you to know that your world is missing light. Light makes everything look real; it turns the darkest of nights into pleasant dreams. I want to be the one that gives light, so call me Solaris and put me up in the sky where I can shine upon everything that exists.”  And so, he made his son the Sun.

“Dad I want you to know your world is missing hope. Hope makes everything feel real, it turns the most pleasant dreams to life. I want to be the one that gives hope to this world, so call me Orion and put me in the sky where I can shine the night upon everything that exists” And so, he made his son into a constellation”

The last 2 sons seeing the grand wishes of their brothers and being afraid that they couldn’t live up to what was set before them , told their father:

“Dad we want you to know this world is missing 2 things, the fact that only the 4 of us and the pandas existed….and the other is that we’ve invented something called blood pressure, and after that we invented something called an anxiety attack…and so we need you to invent something sweet for us”

Hearing their wishes their father laughed, but he thought of how foolish he was into believing his world was perfect. His sons had thought him a lesson.

“ My boys your dad is going to make things better…and here’s how:  I will give you the sweetest thing on earth, I will name it…choco-smudge…no….I will name it choco-later….no…..I will name it….chocolate….that’s it, chocolate. As for the fact that this world is empty, I agree… so here goes something. I will create, what from this point on will be called a girl. “

And so time passed, and I lived to tell this story to all those who would listen about the sun, the stars and even about a small dog named Bubbles.

When the big nothing creates rain you say that this caused the plants to grow. Some children might wonder when the plants were created (others, of course, will simply accept that they are there and thus they grow--but, well--not my child).
