Motive of Forgetfulness

Motive of Forgetfulness

A Poem by DeePurpleLavender
"

Heartbreak

"
Forgetting has one purpose:
To convince yourself that it wasn't right
I am forgetting slowly

You, on the other hand, have forgotten damn well
All my effort--has been defaced
My own presence has been displaced.

Spring days with you-- It wasn't right
Countless touches-- It wasn't quite
All of these memories, I have to fight.

The familiarity of your face-- It's just only a dream.
The way that I felt around you--Was a cognitive stream.
The love that I had for you, I'll keep denying.

As I am now, I will still remember.
How much it hurt-- was filled with the void of time.
I've accepted the fact that you were never mine.
Forgetting indeed has one purpose.
