Pink Roses Got ColdA Story by Manjari Shuklachildren story about two kidsRosy was a very sweet little girl. She loved flowers of her garden, pink roses the most. One morning, when it was raining heavily, she was looking at her pink roses from the window. She thought for a moment and then shouted loudly to his younger brother-“Oh! My lovely roses will catch cold.” Little Grim also came near him and peeped out of the window. He exclaimed-“My poor rose! He is shivering with cold.” “Will he get cold?”- Rosy asked worriedly “I wonder what to do?”- Rosy added without waiting, rolling her deep blue eyes in all directions. Grim thought for a while and then giggled. Then he whispered something in Rosy’s ear. Rosy’s eyes started shining like diamonds and they both jumped with joy. Rosy immediately opened her wooden almirah and took out the blue bottle. It had white balm which her mother applied on her nose and forehead whenever she suffered from cold. Rosy held Grimm’s hand tightly and they both rushed towards the garden. In spite of heavy rain, they did not take any umbrella or raincoat to protect themselves from rain. When they reached close to the rose plant, Rosy opened the bottle and dug out some balm on her finger tip. They applied balm on each rose petal carefully without caring for rain. When they finished, Rosy looked at Grim who was smiling and wiping little rain drops continuously from his face. Then they both returned to their house…but soon they both were down with fever. When her mother noticed them wet and blazing, she called doctor uncle for their treatment. When he came to know, what had happened, he burst out in laughter and said "“You need not worry about your rose in rainy season. It loves rain and smiles even more in the rain.” Their mother said-“But If you get wet, you get fever and cold.” Grim looked at Rosy and said-“Oh no! Now we have to apply that balm on us.” And they all laughed and laughed holding their bellies…..
