Just a little fun-filled, humorous piece of writing - exploring the world of poetry. Maybe it's good, or maybe not. But I did warn you from the start - I'm not good at poetry.
I'm not good at poetry
I can't even rhyme
But I do get it right
From time to time
A QUATRAIN here
A quatrain there
The pattern is clear
The rhyming fair
A ll I have to do, is go
B ack to my ABC's
C ontinue along these lines
D one with such a breeze
Let us try HAIKU,
Very short japanese verse
Like this, I am done!
A CROSTIC, my next attempt
C hallenging in every way
R ead these lines carefully
O r you'll miss what I try to say
S hort lines
T he fist letter
I n each
C ompletes
CINQUAIN
Shortish, unrhymed
Sweet, rhytmic words
Really makes one think
Structured poetry (what's that about?)
I'm not good at poetry
I can't even rhyme
But I do get it right
From time to time
I tried to experiment with some different forms of poetry, all at once, using a different style in each verse and using the verse to describe the style. Hope you enjoy :-)

Yes, very humorous, and you say that you're not good at poetry, but not all poetry has to be in a specific form. I always write in free-form, except for maybe a few haiku's here and there.
I've heard of a quatrain and a cinquain, but I'm not even ashamed to admit that I don't really know what they are.

Those lines made me laugh a bit because you were rhyming throughout the poem, which I'm sure you intended. Very clever and witty, I like it.
I collect various forms of poetry. I google any country ar random and select poetry. Haiku/senryu are japanese. I am addicted to metreed and preferably rhyming poetry. Don't care much for free style.
I also like experimenting and devising new patterns. I like your style ivorAka poeticpiers
