More than yourself

More than yourself

A Poem by Amanda Hope

Take a step back

and a look at your life

What do you see

Are you proud

If you could have an outside view

Could you love yourself

If only you knew

You have an opportunity

To make an impact

Every step makes a footprint

Each action and voice

Make the most of it

Life goes beyond today

As every second goes by

We could make history

I certainly appreciate your intro segments:

"Take a step back

and a look at your life

What do you see

Are you proud

If you could have an outside view

Could you love yourself

If only you knew"

But I had a feeling that this poem would take off at the end of that portion, that you were preparing the reader for a more encompassing conclusion. I see that was not the case, and I was slightly disappointed. I feel as though you could have made this much larger, with as much honesty as I see in your writing I would guess only that it would become much better. I know that saying too much is fraud, and too little vague, but I feel you hid your expression by being too careful come the end.
This is my read, and I hope I was able to help with your writing.

Wow, I love this poem. I truely believe that we all need to step in and make an impact on other that are not as fortunate as we are. If people did take a look at themselves I think alotm of them would think they were greedy.
People need to read this.
What a strong caring message!
