Not Yet Ready

Not Yet Ready

A Poem by Mandy Rose

just a little bit of singing, just for a little bit of fun
little girl in coldness, longing for the sun
little bit of hope, little bit of love
soul bright as starlight, spirit high as doves
little bit of hate, little bit of dark
smoke from a sultry fire near the park
confused lovers entangled on a bench
thirsting for different things each other cannot quench
once the dark is over
once the new day has begun
she walks home
alone
cold once more
to brave the whirling winds
of surviving
