Friends For Life

Friends For Life

A Poem by Mandi
"

I wrote this poem in September of 2012 about me and my very best friend, Kaitlyn. We've been through so much together, she will always be my best friend for life.

"

They are one; same pain, same struggle

Will the veil ever be lifted?

Hopeful eyes, genuine smiles,

They won’t stop after all these miles.

Near and far

Through blood and tears they endure

The two will stand together

And never fall too far.

To say “I love you” is never taken for granted.

Best Friends being criticized

For who they are

When they’re just not sure who that is.

Confusion, scarred smiles,

Their hearts bear the weight in unity.

The devil prowls, clasping the bond

He does not realize that he can never break

What was formed years ago

As simple childhood congruity and

Transformed into an unbreakable friendship.

So he tries to take them down together,

And together they will fall.

They are afraid to drown,

 Their minds consumed by

 Infinite Paradise.

Though sights can be lost,

Passion burns deep within.

Nearing rock bottom,

True feelings astray amongst confusion,

One may look into the others’ eyes

And find lost hope.

They’re willing to try anything

Just to feel, for all emotion

Drowns beneath the pain.

They decide to give up

Just for a little while

To sort it all out.

But they will return to the fight

With renewed strength,

Ready to destroy anything in their path

To the One they love,

And to each other, who are die for.

They accept they could never be alone,

And leaving behind differences

They will never lose hold of importance.

Their future and relationship will be renewed

By the Creator,

The One who put them together,

The One who breathed into them

 Eternal Life.
