Segura

Segura

A Poem by Mandie

A simple line, to color in my time.
I love when music comes from nowhere, just plays behind everything.
The image of us in the mirror. His hair up. He's inspecting my handiwork. I'm laughing, so happy and for the most part unburdened. My hair finally growing out. A dark face, suntanned back to normal. Wearing his blue over shirt. Unbuttoned over my New York T shirt. Laughing.
Segura means brave.
We're happy. Attractive, albeit mismatched. Perfect. Together. Beautiful. His pale face, rounded teeth. Icy blue eyes. Me kissing his face over and over. Having to hold it still. Laughing and rolling, alive and happy.
