![]() september nightA Poem by manchilld99![]() going away into the world ... gone for good![]() cars honk as strange elongated shadows stretch and run from passing headlights across a freshly painted ceiling in a shared room far from home solitude is assured by a stranger’s raspy snores breaking the dark quiet of the spartan room as running faucets and flushing toilets echo from bathrooms down the hall, on other floors no letter today, no call from home faint images of hope on familiar faces things remembered, good-bye, fare well always in mind but gone to return no more tomorrow’s rigors beckon through sleepless dreams the race into the future begins at eight, first class thoughts of playing for keeps in this very real world churn a freshman’s stomach throughout the night © 2011 manchilld99Reviews
