FOREVERMORE, NEVERMORE

FOREVERMORE, NEVERMORE

A Poem by manchilld99

I’m love-tired now,

but so well groomed,

shaven clean of deceitful

wrong-word edges:

The too facile ‘ever,’

Rough, abrasive ‘never,’

Silly, solicitous ‘forever.’

I’m too love-wearied

for being “Mr. Right” now.

And I’ll only be “Mr. Right Now”

only if and only wherever

we each keep the right to sever

and never have to promise 'forever.'
