There's a lot of philosophy packed into this little poem--at least for me. Should one be nihilistic and reject all of one's past life and history that occured "Back in the day." as being irrevelant? Or should one look entirely to "today" and the future as being one's point of reference?
Today I will be like the Greek god Janus.
Good work.
Listen. would you consider submitting a poem--about the length of "Today" and a short story of 1,000 words to my online magazine: The Aegis Literary Review located at: http://aegisliteraryreview.com?
If I like your submission, I will pay you $5.00 for the poem, and $10.00 for the short story. If you are interested email me at: [email protected], and I will tell you how to submit your work.
Sincerely,
Ronald Ayers, Publisher Editor--The Aegis Literary Review
I like the last line. We can't escape our past, but we can move on even though it tears your heart out! I enjoy your honesty. Keep writing. Don't stop.
