Don't Cry For MeA Poem by manchilld99" ... when death creeps into our lives ..."
Don’t cry for me now that I am gone My race is done and I have won I flew away on angel’s wings On a gentle breeze, finally at ease.
Don’t cry for me; the pain is gone We fought this fight with all our might I now have gone to wait for you for when your journey brings you too.
Don’t cry for me; it hurts me to see The pain and longing you have for me. For I have gone, yes gone my way Just think of me on my brightest day.
Don’t cry for me; I couldn’t stay. No, please understand, it was all I could stand. Remember my touch, the times we had Remember our love in good times and bad.
Don’t cry for me, and don’t forget The laughs and tears we shared for years Remember me as I was then Yes, please do say you knew me when.
Don’t cry for me; as my hour came near For what I had yearned, I now have earned . I was finally able to go in peace. I had found true love, so don’t cry for me.

*This is Darlene’s last poem. It came to me in her voice as she lay comatose in the ICU of a local hospital. I only wrote it down. It is her poem. © 2015 manchilld99Reviews
