be still My Heart

be still My Heart

A Poem by Jeanie
"

goodbye

"
and he said to her,
"be still, My Heart"...
because she loved it when he called her that.

arms wrapped around,
he held her oh so tight
bidding her comfort lest she leave him before morn

"be still, My Heart"
whispered quiet as a teardrop
each passing moment being the most precious one.

swathed in contentment
her lashes flutter and she heaves a sigh
wishing only for peace, no regrets.

in silent commune
melancholy lurking,
but neither allowing to be overtaken

his embrace strengthens
as if to protect her from harm
she shudders gently and nestles against his chest

kisses planted amidst soft caress
solace found in the power of love
connection beyond mere earthly bounds

dawn's mist rises
and her eyes glisten
welcoming in the light of day

and he holds her in his arms oh so tight
one last kiss... one last breath...
"goodbye.
be still, My Heart
goodbye".
