The Next Great Adventure

The Next Great Adventure

A Poem by Alisha Heistand
"

Written after receiving some sad news. I got the title from something mentioned in a book I read and it just seems fitting right now.

"
*Dedicated to Mr. Bill Buote-Greig*

Why did he have to go?
Now
Everyone's
Down.
I know he didn't mean to leave us. But it's just so
Sad
to have him gone.
Why?
Now we can never hear his angelic voice, his laugh, or his great advice.
But his voice, that angelic resonance...
It was unlike anything I'd ever heard before.
When he sang,
His soul showed through.
But now he's been silenced...

He's gone on to his Next Great Adventure.
So many
Questions.
What is it like over there?
Does he miss us too?
Can he see us?
What does he want to do, now that he is free from the bonds of this Earth?
Roam?
Visit fancy places?
From what I knew of him, I'd say no to both.
I think he will want to run and laugh
And Sing.
Sing with his voice
Which always sounded to me like the voice of an Angel.
Is the Next Great Adventure better than life on Earth?

i like this because it makes me think about what happens after earth and what it's like. you chose the right title because that's exactly what it is... the next great adventure. and all those questions made me think of a group of children/ younger people that knew him. all those question i could see someone asking, they were all the right ones to ask. also it's like an evolution because in the beginning they had questions and were like really sad but by the end they knew what he would be doing, yet it still ending with a question and made the reader think. this is a good poem, but i still want to help you grow so i recommend that you add more detail (not to the questions,) but like when you said his voice was like an angel's. that's about the only grow i have for you... other than that GOOD job.
PS don't forget to read my book :P
