After SchoolA Poem by Alisha HeistandJust a reminder of what we already have and how often we don't realize how meaningful it can be.It's supposed to be free time in a way I guess that's true But for me, I like my Mondays The feeling of helping someone and making them smile brings a certain comfort to me that I don't believe many other things can do. These people come for clothing, but they leave with a few things more They leave with a smile a new perspective a joy in their heart. And when we close up and lock the store, we are on our way home to deal with our own family. But we have many things these people do not. Some don't have a home or any shelter. Some don't have friends or family. Some don't have anyone to listen to them. Some even prefer to be dead. But every Monday I help these new faces just to make sure I see the brightest smile they possess, so that my day will be complete. My point is this: One can take many things for granted in this world And want the finer things in life But when you get upset or sad, be happy you are not like these people. Help anyone in any way It could be the greatest impact on their life. It may even be what's keeping them alive.
