Post College Life

Post College Life

A Poem by Misha Malyashree Mukherjee
"

The period in life young adults go through when they are just out of High School/College and have entered corporate world, how they try to cope up with the sudden change in their lives.

"
With  dreams in our eyes
And wings ready to fly
We give a welcome smile
To our alluring new life.

A new city new friends
A whole new environment
We enjoy our lives
Gloating in our achievements.

But, as the saying goes
Fun and enjoyment is not forever
We realize in dismay that
We are bored to death there.

No new variations
No new spice
Moreover the workplace's
As cold as ice.

No space for feelings
No emotions anywhere
It dawns that professionalism
Is the key word there.

Sailing below the blue sky
Through storms and hails of life
Groping for our way in dark
To our ultimate goal of life.

But in spite of all the bitterness
Desperation must not show
Coz life is beautiful
Which we must all know.

Love your family love your friends
Care for everyone
Because no hurdle matters
If we are all one.

This is straightforward, and it's a good subject. I'd try to delve into specifics here. What about the post-college conundrum freaks you out, makes you feel empty, resentful towards all the hoops through which you had to jump? I like the like 'sailing below the blue sky/ through storms and hails of life', its very pretty and the image is strong. The other times you use life I wish you'd use something more specific
