Like A Rose

Like A Rose

A Poem by Sam Mallia

Through the eyes, with no disguise, one can see that life is full of fire.
Deep inside the soul we find, a place so cold and spiteful.
In our minds, the voices bind, with so much anger and deception.
We seek control and play a role, of those so ever longing power.

Love is gone and faded grey while monsters warm our heart,
and being sad is published as some unique form of art.
Society takes the pain and represents it as a rose,
while those who suffer feel the pain and keep it buried close.

A smile holds a thousands stories, too personal to be told,
in a world where hope is lost and every year we're cold.
Society is now destructive, ignorant to their peers,
so we stay inside and hide ourselves from all our little fears.
