Dear Susanna MarshA Poem by malex1610A girl is lost within herself, she just wants to find her way again.Dear Susanna Marsh Susanna Marsh is
striding forth, She strides and strides
and strides, She is in search for
that familiar place of which she lost her
mind.
As she walks the birds
do sing as she goes past the trees and
trees, she does not stop
until she comes across a familiar place and
searches down
to find
her Wellington's upon a certain ground, Susanna Marsh does
recall this spot of earth, for the bushes are all
askew,
just as they were that dreaded day which she had lost her
mind, Oh, so long ago.
Dear Susanna Marsh
brings out a spade, and thus begins her
search, she digs and digs and
digs, upon the muddy earth.
Susanna Marsh had
brought with her a crust of bread and
water, for when her mouth start
to dry, from all the digging,
she did wonder.
But alas, she dove in, Digging further and
further, down the muddy earth; she shall save the
water.
She doesn't stop until
suddenly, her spade struck hard
and firm, Susanna Marsh grinned
with pride, for she had recalled
this spot of earth.
Susanna Marsh reached
down the muddy hole, upon it her hand grazed a small wooden box of
which she grabbed and pulled.
She blew away the dirty
earth atop it, and found inside a note, she opened it and then
laughed and laughed at what she previously
wrote.
'If ever
you find you have lost your mind, Remember this, my sweet, One can lose their
way, sometimes, so long as one finds
their feet.'
Susanna Marsh shook her
head and gave a tearful sigh, if only she had known
before that come a year or two, she would lose so much
more.
With that, she stood
tall upon the muddy ground, her Wellington's gave
a squelch, as she began to turn
around. But oh! If only she
could recall where she had begun? Maybe then she might
remember when she had lost her
mind.
Dear Susanna Marsh gave
a hearty sigh, she ventured forth,
deeper and deeper, into the woods to find
that one familiar place which she had lost her
mind. © 2016 malex1610Author's Note
