Clouded Thoughts

Clouded Thoughts

A Poem by Mala Mukherjee
"

When clouds thronged to form a battalion squad to avenge their denials

"
Watch clouds float in
One grey one black
Or that white little fluffy one
Calm and dubious they
Thronged ambiguous .
Yet determined for a cause.

Laden with oblivious stories
And claudrons of emotions
They conspired in voices
Low and muffled , but concerned.
The whispers proclaimed an uprise
To avenge their archaic denials.

Ignited within they garnered.
Camouflaging in the shapes
Of blissful life or grusome death
Or in amorous creation or brutal annhilation.
The squadron marched indomitably.
To the beats of martial drums

Conquering the fiery emperor.
They poured with exuberance.
The influxes of their repressed tears
On the dead dry tormented lands
To invoke an euphoric life and
To end this rugged strife.

The metaphors here come to life. As though in battle, the clouds emerge victorious.
