Old Sport

Old Sport

A Poem by mala
"

He is 'Old Sport'

"
'Hey Kiddo' you would say,
How about I take you away,
After we've hammered down another few.
Every time that I saw you,
My eyes lit up- and you always knew,
That i'd be going home with you.
'Twas not always clear to me,
That your actions, me, deceived
Although my body is untouched,
My mind and heart cannot be set free.
Well done to the quick thinking on your feet,
It wouldn't be fair to say all you brought me was deceit
But old sport, your now just another story, in another chapter, on another sheet.
You know what they always say,
You've got her back, the house, the kids and perhaps a delayed dismay,
And certainly the memories of us, embedded into my soul, will not fade.
So here's a toast,
To the one I currently love most,
It's not okay but f**k it, I just have to watch you both gloat.
