Fairy Tale

Fairy Tale

A Poem by maktub
"

mhm...fairy tale...? Or Not? All those princesses....what about us normal woman?

"

She is no Cinderella losing a fancy slipper…
She is the glass shoe-
Fragile, she waits…needing a return rescuer.

Not Snow White slumbering in case crystalline…
She is the slumber –
Just one more stage of awakened life passing.

Nor Aurora, sleeping beauty with pricked finger…
She is the pin –
Forgotten, a crimson drop slides down sliver.

No Rapunzel bald and blind, still found love…
She is the hair -
Shorn strands fallen, for her, there is none.

Not Ariel - flipper for legs - captivating her man…
She is that fin –
Abandoned to the frothy blue, for the land.

Neither Belle, no Jasmine, not Pocahontus, nor Marian…
This is no fairytale -
As ‘chance’ would have it, she is me, a mere woman
.

Excellent concept. You have a profound grasp of your destination with your words but you make the journey awesome with it. This is just genius. WELL done!!! i absolutely loved the way you took like Cinderealla and the fancy slipper but put it that she was the glass shoe. excellent.

Things happen for a reason, and regardless of what that reason is, those things are not always good, but nor are they always bad...and oftentimes the unanswered prayers are the greatest blessings, and.. more..
