Tears and Paper

Tears and Paper

A Poem by maktub

The world is a floor, I cross legged upon it,
Pieces of lined notebook paper strewn…
Contemplations congregating around me,
Thrown about like my words unuttered.

The stars are eyes; I reach for their saltiness,
And from blue oceans is crystal withdrawn.
Like the tears from paired orbs brimming,
upon pages of paper soon to be spilling.

The words are fire, licking flames that burn –
They spark as I let them flicker from my mouth,
Turn, twist, nearly off the tip of tongue, then…
burn away, leaving me alone with tears and paper.

Very imaginative. You've captured a myriad of emotions and meanings that often drift around un-caught. Keep it up! I love your writing! You go.
