Autumn In Short

Autumn In Short

A Poem by maktub
"

The irony...ultimately the trees so lofty lose their covering to the dirt (ground) so low...

"

Leaves clothe dirt anew
when year shall soon be through
with tapestry of hues,
yet leaving trees bare and nude.

Wonderfully vivid imagery. This short little poem is full of expression. I really like it! "tapestry of hues" was my favorite part. Really great rhyme and rhythm as well. Nicely done.

I find this poem to be spectacular. The metaphor is stunning and critically important. Sadly, it is often the painfully obvious that we seem not to grasp.

Goes into my library as a favorite.
